TOM Bulteel scored twice as Old Halesonians comfortably beat Finchfield 4-0.

The striker took his own tally for the season to 10 and in doing so consolidated Hales’s second spot in MRHA West Midlands Premier Division. Bulteel opened the scoring inside the first 10 minutes.

Old Hales continued to pile on the pressure and got their reward on the stroke of half-time, when Tom Durnfield drag flicked the ball home.

They made it 3-0 in the second period with another Bulteel goal following a fine run from Chris Hill, who then finished the scoring himself when he fired home after another neat passing move.

Old Hales head to Warwick University this Saturday.

The second XI’s travel sickness continued as they lost 4-1 at Stratford.

Harry Hughes scored for Hales but they got little reward despite a promising display, the result meaning they are still searching for their first away point of the season.

There was also disappointment for the thirds, who were missing skipper Deck Glaze as they went down to a narrow 1-0 away defeat at promotion-chasing Bridgnorth.
