Seventh spot for Stour man Giles

STOURBRIDGE long distance runner Matt Giles secured seventh place overall in the Birmingham and District Cross Country League.

Giles, who competes for Stourbridge Running Club, rounded off the season with fifth place in the final round at Coventry’s Coundon Park.

He crossed the line in a time of 41mins 10secs, closely followed by team-mates Andy Aston who finished in 45mins 55secs and Tony Warner in 46mins 26secs.

More than 300 runners took part in the league, with Stourbridge’s A team finishing eighth overall in Division Three, while the B team were tenth.
