MICHAEL Rutter had confirmed his return to British Superbikes for another season.

The Kingswinford ace, veteran of 393 races, has signed for the Quay Garage Racing team which will compete in all-new Bathams Honda colours.

In what promises to be a busy year, Rutter will combine a hectic schedule as he mixes the Superbike championship with world endurance and major road races.

Rutter said: “This is a really good opportunity for me and I am looking forward to getting back on a Honda.

“I want to be back in the top-six again — we have done it before and I know that the Honda package is as strong as ever.

“We have the backing of Bathams and some really experienced crew; the bikes are the championship-winning ones from 2010 and I think they did a brilliant job then.

“I wouldn’t be back on the grid if I didn’t think we could get the results.”

Bathams Honda team owner Ian Woolacott added: “I believe the team has been born again. We had a year out but we have definitely regrouped and come back stronger.

“I think our Bathams Honda team line up makes us a force to be reckoned with this year. I am really buzzing about this season.”
