FIGHTERS from Cradley Heath's Ultimate Martial Arts Academy have once again tasted competition success.
Youngster Amy Cook, aged 10, from Amblecote, was crowned the winner of the Thai boxing South UK title in Milton Keynes on Saturday, March 1. Fellow academy fighter Lyla Tether, eight, from Quarry Bank, took home the bronze medal in the same contest.
Their success follows Darrell Lowe's gold at the Hereford Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Open on Sunday, February 1.
Jim Attwood, who also competed at the event, won his first fight but lost his second.
Academy instructor and two times British Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion, Sean Smith, who trains his fighters from the centre in Maypole fields, off Hayes Lane, said: "I'm very pleased and proud of them. I'm also looking forward to seeing them compete more over this next year."
