OLYMPIC hero Kristian Thomas had more medal success at the English Championships.

The Earls Gymnastics Club member, who was catapulted into the national spotlight after winning a bronze medal at London 2012, won two gold medals and an overall silver when he competed in Wigan last weekend.

He claimed his two gold medals for success on the vault and high bars.

Thomas was using the event to try a host of new routines as he prepares to take part in the British Championships at the end of the month.

They will run from Friday, March 28 to Sunday, March 30 at Echo Arena in Liverpool and will pit Olympic, world and European medallists against each other along with Britain’s best rising gymnastics stars.

Over the three day event, juniors and seniors compete for their respective all-around titles – where gymnasts compete on all pieces of apparatus. They then also compete in individual apparatus finals.

Last weekend was the start of what will be a busy year for the Thomas. He also has his sights set on more success at the European Championships in May, the Commonwealth Games this summer and then the World Championships in China in October.
