HALESOWEN Town boss John Hill wants to manage expectation levels at The Grove following his side's quick rise to the Northern Premier League.

The Yeltz halted a three-game losing streak when claiming a hard-fought point away to Rushall Olympic on Tuesday night.

Last Saturday's 1-0 home defeat against Workington had previously left the Yeltz point-less from their last three games as they continue to adjust to life at a higher level after last season's promotion.

However, Hill wants everyone connected to the club to be realistic about what to expect from his team this campaign.

He said: "We are well ahead of where we should be after we managed to win the league last year. We have to be realistic and understand how far we have come.

"We are probably in the bottom three when it comes to financial clout, yet with promotion comes bigger crowds and bigger expectations.

"This is an honest group of players but there will be difficult periods during the season. The important thing was to get back on track, which we did. We can now look ahead after doing that."

Against Rushall, the Yeltz bagged a vital point thanks to Elliott Turner's strike after 12 minutes. He headed home after good work down the right flank from Chris Lait.

Rushall equalised five minutes into the second half Rooney beat three defenders before slotting home.

Hales could have won it at the end but had to settle for a point to end their losing run.

"To take a point is very pleasing," added Hill. "It also stops the mini rot after losing the previous three.

"It is the sort of result that we can now build on."

Meanwhile, summer signing Peter Till has left to join rivals Stourbridge.

Hill confirmed that he will be replaced in the squad by the return of Chris Lait from his loan spell with AFC Wulfrunians.

The Yeltz will welcome Sutton Coldfield Town in the FA Cup this Saturday before Nantwich Town visit The Grove for more league action next Tuesday.
