OLDSWINFORD and Stourbridge Social are celebrating promotion to Division One of the Worcestershire Cricket League.
Having finished out of the two automatic promotion places they went up as a result of Astwood Bank not being relegated from the Birmingham Premier League.
Vice captain Rich Milner said the news was a real boost in the first season since merging the two respective clubs.
He said: “We wanted to confirm with the league before we started celebrating and they confirmed there would be three going up rather than the two which is usually the case.
“It’s great for the club. We wanted to get back into the top league after one year. Since the merger there have obviously been some teething problems integrating the two clubs who are both used to their own way of doing things.
“We haven’t lost any players and we now field four teams and hopefully we can go for other promotions.”
