LYE Town chairman Brian Blakemore is pleased with how Lye have settled into life in the Midland Football League's Premier Division.

Newly-promoted Lye, jointly managed by Martin Thomas and Darren Goodall, are now up to sixth despite defeat against Boldmere St Michaels last Saturday.

Strikes from Matthew Johnson and substitute Tom Overfield couldn't prevent them from losing 3-2 at Stourbridge Road.

However, Town had previously bagged three wins in succession to fire themselves towards the top end of the table.

Blakemore said: "The match against Boldmere was a great game and were we unlucky to finish with nothing to show for our efforts.

"But Boldmere are one of the stronger sides in this league and the performance and recent form shows that we are more than capable at holding our own at this level."

Lye will face Pegasus Juniors at home in the FA Vase this Saturday before then starting the defence of their Worcestershire Senior Urn away at Studley on Tuesday.
