ROWLEY Regis boxer Jason Welborn is set to be in action in Cheltenham next month.

He will once again take to the ring at Hatherley Manor on Friday, October 24 as part of the 'Lords of the Manor’ show.

The show sees ABA National Championship Quarter Finalist and Western Counties Senior Elite ABA Champion, Adam Harper, make his professional debut.

It will be a special night for the highly-rated Tewkesbury fighter, who is looking forward to his maiden fight in the paid ranks at a venue that holds a special place in his heart.

Light middleweight Harper will act as chief support to two-time British Title Contender and two-weight Midlands Area Champion Welborn.

He may have lost to current British Light Middleweight Champion, Liam Smith, in July but he hopes his all-action, gutsy performance has laid down a marker for future title tilts.

“I want to keep myself ticking over and wait for my chance to come again,” said the 28 year-old. “I thought I did well against Liam and I’ve been pleased with my performances since stepping up to light middleweight last year.
