STOURBRIDGE have announce the arrival of striker George Bowerman on loan from League 2 side Accrington Stanley.

The Sedgley-born striker will be on loan until January 3, 2015 and is eligible in play in the FA Trophy this weekend and the Glassboys other remaining cup competitions along with their programme of league games.

The 22-year old - who celebrates his 23rd birthday on November 6th - is the son of former Stourbridge player and assistant manager Alf Bowerman.

He started his career at Walsall, progressing from the youth ranks into the senior side, although he spent a spell on loan at Redditch United in early 2011.

He made 59 appearances and scored 11 goals for the Saddlers, but after falling out of favour with boss Dean Smith, he was released at the end of the 2012/13 campaign.

He had a short stint with Woking early in 2013/14 before signing for Accrington Stanley in October 2013. His opportunities were limited in his first season there, but he managed 3 goals and did enough to win a new 12-month contract last summer from then Stanley boss James Beattie.

The Glassboys have moved to strengthen their attacking options following the serious injury sustained by Ben Billingham recently at Matlock, along with the ongoing hamstring injury that top goalscorer Luke Benbow has been struggling with this season.
