MANAGER Ian Long is targeting a points haul from Tividale's next run of fixtures.

The team from The Beeches found their shooting boots when claiming a fine 3-0 away victory against Sheffield last Saturday.

The win sets them up for a period of games against sides below them in the table.

Tivi take on bottom side Kidsgrove this Saturday before facing Carlton Town, Norton United, second from bottom side Brigg Town and third from bottom Rainworth Miners' Welfare.

Long said: "I am targeting a points haul from our next few games. We have had a difficult month but now have the chance to get a lot more points on the board.

"If we approach the games in the right manner then we could push ourselves into the play-off positions."

Against Sheffield, Tividale put a difficult spell of one win in ten games behind them.

Tividale had the first chance of the game after 6 minutes when David Bellis shot from 20 yards out and Sheffield keeper Joe Green turned the ball out for a corner.

On 22 minutes, Tividale went ahead when Nigel Penney was played in after neat interplay between Chris Field and Leigh Downing. He guided the ball past Green into the net.

Despite a period of dominance, Tivi failed to extend their lead before the break.

Sheffield had the first real chance of the second half when James Gregory forced Tividale keeper Charlie Price into his first save of the game.

However, the visitors doubled their lead on 57 minutes when a corner kick was met by skipper Mark Smith before Karl Edwards guided the ball home.

Tivi made it three in the 89th minute when Ben Algar was robbed by Tividale substitute Jazz Luckie and he laid the ball off to Penney to fire home.

Meanwhile, the club will be offering free admission to veterans and serving members of the armed forces as part of the Remembrance weekend.

The offer will be for the home game against Carlton Town on Saturday, November 8.

Emergency service members and people from related youth organisations including Scouts, Boys Brigade and Guides will also be able to take up free entry if they bring suitable identification.
