OLD Halesonians Hockey Club Men’s first XI losing streak continued as they were dispatched 4-1 by newly promoted Old Silhillians.
Whilst Hales had some good periods of play in the first half, which saw some excellent defensive work, they were unable to take the lead and capitalise on their early chances. The visitors' goalkeeper made some excellent saves early on to keep the game at 0-0.
However, a breakthrough came from a penalty corner which went through the legs of unfortunate goalkeeper Steve Charlton. Old Silhillians were able to double their lead prior to the break.
The second half saw Hales struggle to get up to speed, and the visitors found themselves 3-0 up. Old Hales did stage a slight comeback fight when Tom Bulteel scored a consolation for the hosts.
It was an afternoon to forget for the Halesowen side, who travel to Stone this weekend, looking to escape their current run of poor form.
