TIVIDALE'S recent performances have highlighted just how far they have progressed this season, says manager Ian Long.

Tivi beat Lincoln United last Saturday before hitting a late leveller against Sutton Coldfield on Easter Monday.

A brace of first half penalties from defender Zac Foster gave them a 2-0 win home over Lincoln. Both spot kicks were won by the impressive Jordan Archer.

Archer then got his name on the scoresheet two days later when he struck late on to earn his side a 1-1 draw at The Beeches against Sutton Coldfield.

The results ensured they remain unbeaten in the league since the turn of the year.

Boss Long was full of praise for his side while admitting their chances of crashing the league's play-off party is just beyond them this campaign.

He said: "We did really well against Lincoln and could have won by more. It was a solid all round performance.

"We are now back to our best.

"The players were disappointed after the draw with Sutton, which I think highlights how far we have come as a team.

"I had to try and lift them up because they felt like they should have won.

"The draw maintains our really good record at home since the turn of the year. That is good to see because if we are to improve and progress next season then that will be an important factor."

"I think that a play-off place is just out of our reach now," added Long.

"We have done well but I think we have too much ground to make up. Hopefully we can finish well this season so that we can be a lot closer next."

Meanwhile, Tividale will find out the results of a recent ground grading inspection at The Beeches in the coming weeks.

A host of improvement works were carried out at the ground last week in the hope of meeting Grade D Specifications.

A failure to meet the specification would put their status in the Northern Premier League's Division One South in jeopardy but they have yet to hear the results.
