STOURBRIDGE boss Gary Hackett says he had no hesitation in raiding rivals Halesowen Town for star pair Kristian Green and Tom Tonks.

Full back Green and central midfielder Tonks have become the Glassboys' fourth and fifth signings of the summer after central defender Stuart Pierpoint also linked up on Monday.

They join fellow new arrivals Lee Chilton and Charlie Price at the War Memorial Ground as Hackett's quest to revamp his squad goes on.

Hackett said: "I didn't need to think twice about bringing in Kristian Green or Tom Tonks. It was the right thing to do for Stourbridge Football Club. The fact they come from Halesowen didn't come into it.

"I have a lot of respect for (manager) John Hill and everyone at Halesowen Town, but this was a footballing decision. John would do the same.

"People will talk about the moves being all about money but I sold this club on the football front.

"I'm delighted to have both players onboard."

Both men formed a key part of Halesowen's success in recent seasons.

Green, 24, scooped Halesowen's player of the season award alongside fellow defender Curtis Tilt at the end of the season.

He enjoyed a highly successful 2012/13 campaign with Gornal Athletic before making the step up to join Halesowen Town in the summer of 2013.

He quickly impressed for the Yeltz as they secured the Northern Premier League Division One South title in 2013/14.

Tonks, meanwhile, is a versatile and hard-working central midfield player who also has a long throw in his armory.

The 23-year-old joined Hales in March 2013 having previously played for Brocton and Tipton Town.

Hackett also highlighted the potential impact that defender Pierpoint could have.

"He is an experienced player and a commanding figure," he said. "He is also a great organiser and will strengthen the spine of the side."

Meanwhile, doubt surrounds the future of both Luke Benbow and Will Richards at Amblecote.

Both players have yet to decided where their futures lie amid interest from other clubs.

Hackett said: "Luke and Will haven't decided where they want to play their football next season. We are still waiting to hear what they decide.

"If they decide that the grass is greener somewhere else then so be it, we will have to move on."

Those that have already left the club include Dean Coleman, Jordan Fitzpatrick, Leon Miles and Josh Quaynor.

The promising Josh Morgan-Parker has also departed due to starting a university course in Manchester.

Hackett confirmed he is still looking to make even more addition before the season gets underway.
