HALESOWEN Town chairman Colin Brookes says the club will not dwell on the loss of four key players this week.

The Yeltz have been hit by Kristian Green and Tom Tonks moving to rivals Stourbridge, Curtis Tilt exiting The Grove for Hednesford and Aaron Ford joining Sutton Coldfield.

Green and Tilt jointly scooped last season's player of the year award, while Tonks was handed the chairman's gong after another influential campaign.

The quartet's departure follows forward Ben Haseley leaving for Stafford Rangers last month.

Brookes said: "We must move on quickly. This happens in football and we are working hard behind the scenes to bring in replacements.

"It is very disappointing to lose them because they have all been very reliable for us. I just hope they appreciate what Halesowen has done for them because they have developed into very good non-league footballers during their time here.

"The biggest disappointment for our fans will be Kristian and Tom moving to Stourbridge. Loyalty, if we like it or not, at any level, now starts in the wage packet.

"We are not in the position to offer the sort of money that Stourbridge can offer and won't be putting ourselves in the position we were five years ago.

"But what I can say is that Stourbridge will be getting two really good lads that have been a credit to themselves while at this club."

The chairman said manager John Hill is already lining up new additions.

"John has many irons in the fire and I know he is already working on bringing in replacements," he said. "He found the players that have just left and he will do it again.

"We will move forwards from this very quickly."

Hales have already welcomed some new faces as well as re-signing a host of last season's regulars.

The club beat competition to secure the services of midfielder Ashley Parsons Smith and striker Connor Collins.

Parsons Smith signs from Stourport Swifts after being part of Kidderminster Harriers' youth set-up and can play on the right side of midfield.

Collins joins from Fairfield Villa with an impressive record of 44 goals in 39 matches last season, including a two month spell at Worcester City.

Ashley Parsons Smith and Connor Collins join previous summer signings Greg Pearson and Mike Taylor.

Meanwhile, Matthew Sargeant, captain Joe Hull, Aaron Griffiths, Asa Charlton and Danny Bragoli will all be part of Halesowen's 2015/16 squad after committing to the club.

Brookes added: "They have been a big part of what we have achieved and it is good they will be here to continue that next season."
