CRADLEY will hand Tyler Govier his first chance to impress in Wednesday’s top-of-the-table crunch clash with Birmingham at Perry Barr.

The Devon racer has been waiting on the sidelines all season as the club’s stand-by man.

Now he will be thrown in at the deep end for the biggest meeting in recent National league history as a replacement for broken collarbone victim Mike Neale.

Heathens will also operate the rider replacement facility for Nathan Greaves against a Birmingham side who have lost only two meetings this year.

Motor Market Heathens boss Will Pottinger said: “Our best wishes go to Mikey, it was obvious immediately he had broken his collarbone at Mildenhall and hopefully it will be a straight forward recovery.

“It gives Tyler an opportunity to come in and show us what he can do. He’s been a delight to deal with and has been very patient.

“We can’t expect too much and we won’t want to put any pressure on his shoulders, so we will just see what he can do.”

Also on Wednesday night Cradley will be naming more riders for their showpiece individual meeting of the year, the Golden Hammer, on Wednesday August 12.
