‘WE’RE back on track’ was the message from Gornal Athletic boss Andy Wyton after a 3-1 defeat of Wolverhampton Casuals.

Dreniz Bala, Chris Bladen and Danny Crudgington got the goals to end a sticky three-match spell.

Wyton was targeting wins over Bilston (last night) and Tipton Town on Saturday to kickstart their quest for the West Midland Regional title.

“We had lacked character in the last three games but we turned up and showed some face on Saturday.

“That has got us back on track and the next two are games we have to win. It’s wide open this year I don’t think anyone is going to run away with it,” Wyton said.

“Having finished second last year we have got to be challenging.

“If we can get in contention we have players who know what it takes to win this league and that experience may make a difference.”

Wyton has put seven days in for left-sided utility man Danny Ludlow, who is dual registered with Cradley Town and Southam United, and hoped to have him in the starting line up against Bilston.

Meanwhile Ben Stretton and Brett McGilligan are set to return after a spell on the sidelines injured.

TEAM Dudley travelled to the Welsh border to gain a 2-2 draw with Kington Town. Sam Lea and Nathan Jones scored for TD, with Ryan Newtons and Liam Jones converting for Kington.
