TIVIDALE boss Ross Thorpe says no one at the club will be getting carried away after his side bagged their second win of the season.

Tivi beat Belper Town 4-2 at The Beeches to lift themselves off the bottom of the Northern Premier League Division One South table.

Thorpe was delighted his players were able to deliver a much-needed three points but underlined the hard road ahead.

He said: "It was a great performance across the board and we deserved the win.

"No one here is under the impression that we have cracked it though, especially not the players or management team. We know how hard we need to keep working. One win doesn't change that.

"We will go into almost every game as underdogs this season and the players need to embrace that tag.

"The players can go and show what they are capable of at this level of football without feeling under pressure, which is a good thing for us. A few have had to adjust to the intensity expected at this level but continue to learn with every game.

The victory was Dale's first points since beating bottom side Rugby Town last month.

Tivi now face two tough games away at Kidsgrove Athletic tonight before welcoming Stafford Rangers to the Beeches in the FA Trophy this Saturday.

"It would be nice to get some momentum going but we will be up against it again," added Thorpe.

"We need to dig in and just go and express ourselves once more."

Dale responded to last week’s defeat at Lincoln United with an excellent attacking performance against Belper.

Mark Danks, Chris Rabone, Chris Sterling and substitute Demetri Brown were all on target at the Beeches.

Danks was later sent off with 20 minutes to play for a second bookable offence.

However, Thorpe is pleased with the amount of players he and fellow joint boss Phil Male now have to choose from.

"We have a fully fit squad at the moment and good competition, which shows how hard we worked in the summer to find new recruits," added Thorpe.

"It's a good place to be and a situation that will hopefully make us stronger."
