DETERMINED Dudley Kingswinford runners dominated their opening Birmingham League Cross Country fixture which took place at Leamington Spa.

Having suffered relegation to Division Three last season by just one solitary point, the DK's were desperate to put down a marker for the coming season.

He was chased home by Rob Meredith in third place who was timed at 39-59 while Matt Biggs was fourth in 40-04.

James Wright clocked 41-03 to finish in sixth place while Richard Bate raced home in 21st place clocking 43-52 while Rob Sannwald completed the scoring six, crossing the line in 27th spot when timed at 44-29.

He was followed home by Simon Hughes 37th, Andy Sprague 49th, Simon Blizzard 58th, Mark Gallimore 60th and Daren Thompson 68th. Their efforts would have been good enough for sixth place in the A team contest.
