Northern Premier League Integro Cup - Market Drayton 1, Stourbridge 1 (Market Drayton win 4-3 on penalties)

FA CUP heroes Stourbridge were soon brought crashing back down to earth after losing out to Division One South side Market Drayton following a penalty shoot-out.

Glassboys boss Gary Hackett rang the changes following his side's memorable FA Cup victory at Dover Athletic, making no less than 11 alterations from last Saturday's starting line-up.

Ben Billingham and Drew Canavan were restored to the side while goalkeeper Charlie Price replaced Lewis Solly.

Hackett also gave three youth team players their debut, bringing in Shay Palmer, Freddie Watts and Lewis Mitchell.

And Hackett also delved into the youth team further after half time by adding Darragh Bustin and Louis Clifton, son of assistant manager Mark Clifton, to the line-up.

Despite all the changes, Stourbridge still had the better of a somewhat low key first half and took the lead after 37 minutes.

Billingham released Chris Knight down the right flank, where he delivered a low cross which flew along the six yard boss and proved too hard for Market Drayton goalkeeper Ashley Rawlins to hold, enabling Tyree Clarke to stoop low and head home from close to range to register his first senior Glassboys goal, having made his debut the previous week in the 5-0 Birmingham Senior Cup defeat to Wolves.

Hosts Market Drayton stepped up in a gear in the second half and steadily made their experience tell when they equalised on 73 minutes.

Following a persistent spell of pressure, the ball was played down their right flank, where Alex Penny missed the ball altogether, enabling Scott Ryan to cross for Will Whieldon to net after the ball appeared to strike him on the knee.

Whieldon's leveller took the game straight into a penalty shoot-out immediately after the 90 minutes, where Stourbridge made the worst possible start when Clifton had the opening penalty saved by Rawlins.

The next seven penalties were all converted before Chris Knight then failed to net from Stourbridge's fifth attempt which was again saved by Rawlins to seal the Glassboys' fate.
