HALESOWEN Town boss John Hill was able to run the rule over a couple of new prospects during this week's 2-1 win over Leek Town in the Northern Premier League's Integro Doodson Cup.

Keenah Rosser, who was previously with Solihull Moors, featured at right back while Nathan Hands came on in midfield during the second half after the Yeltz were able to obtain his international clearance.

Hill revealed: "Nathan is a local lad but has been playing professional football in Sweden and is now back on the scene. He's had previous experience with Evesham United and operates on the left side of midfield."

Matt Sargeant took over in goal for the Leek Town game but has now left the club to join Midland League side Alvechurch.

John Hill explained: "Matt has been vying for the first team jersey this season along with Danny Platt. They are both very good goalkeepers and both have different attributes. At the moment, 'Platty' has just got his nose in front and I think Alvechurch were aware of this situation.

"We're in no rush to bring in another 'keeper, especially as goalkeeping coach Danny Watson has already been registered."

The Yeltz were held to a 1-1draw at Colwyn Bay last Saturday.

John Marsden had put the Welshmen in front on 77 minutes but Reece Hales hit back to level for the Yeltz with six minutes remaining.

Hill had no complaints about the outcome and claimed: "Overall, it was a fair result as Colwyn Bay played well in the first half.

"What was disappointing from our point of view was the fact we finished the game really strongly and had we played the game for another five to 10 minutes, I'm sure we would have gone onto win."

Halesowen host Barwell in the Northern Premier League this Saturday when Hill remains without the injured Joe Hull who is still sidelined with ankle ligament damage while Bradley Lewis is expected to be missing for another fortnight due to hamstring trouble.
