AFC Turners claimed a 9-2 away win over Charlton House in the Dudley and Cradley League's Ray Turley Memorial Competition.

Charlton House should have been in front after nine minutes except for a brilliant save from Ian Garvey in the Turners goal. He tipped a certain goal against the post and was cleared to safety.

This seemed to wake Turners and they went straight up the other end and scored with a goal from Lee Chilton on 10 minutes.

On 15 minutes, Turners increased their lead when Lee Chilton beat keeper Dave Homer in the Charlton House net with a deft chip. Geoff Hill made it 3-0 on 30 minutes and Kieron Snead added a fourth before the break.

With Turners having the advantage of the slope they used it to their advantage with Lee Chilton scoring a 10 minute hat trick with goals on 55, 57 and 65 minutes.

Kieron Snead scored his second of the game on 60 minutes to take the score to 8-0.

Charlton House netted from the spot on 75 minutes as Craig Yates made no mistake and hammered the ball into the back of the net. Three minutes later Charlton House scored their second with a well taken individual goal from Wayne Marsh.

However, Turners completed the scoring on 78 minutes with a goal from Declan Calder.

In the same competition, Kingswinford Swan beat Lloyds 6-2.

In a competitive match as always between these two sides, the first half was close with both teams creating chances but it took until the 40th minute for the first goal to be scored when Liam Hickman picked up on a through ball from Ben Hickman to put the ball into the back of the net. Hickman scored his and Kingswinford's second three minutes later when he got onto the end of a ball from Luke Fellows who beat three Lloyd’s players before passing the ball.

The second half started as the first half had finished with Kingswinford on top Liam Hickman became the provider for Kingswinford's third goal scored by Joe Lawley.

On 57 minutes, Luke Fellows again used his strength to put through a great ball for Liam Hickman to complete his hat-trick to make it 4-0.

Lloyds got one back through Jamie Colledge after a mistake from Kingswinford's keeper. On 62 minutes, Liam Hickman again became the provider when his cross was met by Luke Fellows.

Kingswinford kept the pressure on Lloyds and on 74 minutes as Luke Fellows beat two Lloyds defenders and put Liam Hickman through for his fourth and Kingswinford's sixth. With the game drawing to a close Lloyds were awarded an 89th minute free-kick that Lee Witts converted to leave it 6-2.

Meanwhile, in the Horace Benjamin Trophy, Wollaston Harriers bagged a 4-1 success over Hasbury Colts.

The match was played on a very difficult and leg sapping pitch. Hasbury only started with 10 players but kept Wollaston at bay and scored the only goal of the first half right on the stroke of half time when they headed in a Dan Kelly corner.

The Hasbury goal seemed to rally the Wollaston team and they can out strong in the second half and created several chances before Matt Bird scored to bring the scores level.

Shaun Peach put Wollaston in front when he headed home a corner. Wollaston created more chances but they wasted them until Matt Bird scored his second to give Wollaston a 3 - 1.

Hasbury were handed a life line but the failed to take it when Wollaston’s keeper Dan Shorthouse saved it. The final goal of the game came when Wollaston broke out and Brad Ashmore made a fine chip into the back of the net.

In round four of the Birmingham Amateur Cup, Phoenix beat Chestnet Tree 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 score at full time.

Phoenix started slowly and it was Chestnut Tree who scored the only goal in the first half when they broke out in numbers from a Phoenix corner and Ashley Campbell scored.

Phoenix were much better in the second half and put Chestnut Tree under pressure but they still had to be aware that Chestnut Tree were dangerous on the break. Phoenix equalized when Dylan Shepherd combined well with Matt Ravenscroft with a smart one-two that Dylan Shepherd put in to the net. Both teams pushed for the winner but the game went down to penalties with the full time score 1 - 1.

Adam Hill in the Phoenix goal saved the first Chestnut Tree penalty with Phoenix scoring this put the pressure on the Chestnut Tree penalty takers who hit the bar twice and Phoenix scoring sent them through to the quarter finals 3 – 1 on penalties.
