YELTZ boss John Hill says his team is capable of beating last season’s points total if they can find success on their travels.

Halesowen now face 10 games away from the Grove compared to just six in front of their own fans.

Hill thinks a strong end to the campaign coupled with more wins on the road should see them pass the 59 points they accrued in the 2014/15 season.

He said: “It is obviously better to play at home, especially for the fans, but we have to just embrace playing away.

“I think we have a decent away set-up and it could play into our hands a little.

“It will be difficult because of the distance we will have to cover. But the players can bond on the coach and enjoy it, so that may be a plus as well.

“We have played more games than any of the teams around us so we will probably drop to mid-table once they catch-up and I think that is a fair position for us this season.

“We have a completely new side since last year but I think we can beat our points total.

“We are slightly behind where we were last season but you have to remember that we ended the season in poor form. If this time around we can maintain our form then we should be able to do it. That is our aim now.”

The Yeltz were left frustrated by the weather last Saturday when their game at Ilkeston was called of due to a waterlogged pitch.

The team was actually on their way to the game when they heard the announcement.

That fixture has now been rearranged for Saturday, March 19.

Hales are set to travel to Workington this Saturday as they look to get back to winning ways following their defeat against leaders Blyth Spartans when they were last in action.

Meanwhile, Hill said that there are no arrivals or departures in the pipeline at present.

“The players we have need to be playing games,” he added.

“They will now have the chance to do that because we don’t have anything planned at the moment.

“Obviously, if we can strengthen a certain area then we will try and do that, but then there are a lot of factors to consider.

"First of all they have to be the right person for us but also it has to fit in with us financially.

"We are not in a position where we can just go out and get anyone we want.”
