KINGSWINFORD Swan ended their season on a high by bagging the Dudley and Cradley League's John Higham Memorial Trophy.

Swan beat AFC Turners 4-1 in a battle of the league's top two sides.

Both teams started the game well with the first five minutes seeing end to end football but with no real chances created.

AFC Turners broke quickly on seven minutes and Geoff Hill fired over after being put through one-on-one with with Roy Carter in the Kingswinford goal.

On 14 minutes, Kingswinford had a free kick that was whipped in to Liam Hickman who shot just past the back post.

Kingswinford Swan were awarded a penalty on the half hour mark when Alex Perry was brought down. Liam Hickman stepped up and converted to break the deadlock..

Lee Chilton had a chance to equalise just two minutes later from the right hand side when he lobbed keeper Carter but saw the ball drop just wide of the far post.

Swan doubled their advantage before half time when Alex Perry made a brilliant run and went through the AFC Turners defence and lobbed the out-rushing Mark Garvey.

The start to the second half started as the first half ended with Kingswinford Swan putting the pressure on the Turners defence.

AFC Turners had a five minute spell putting the pressure on Swan but for no result.

A Kingswinford break on 16 minutes saw Alex Perry in down the left, beat two defenders and with a good chance to score unselfishly crossed the ball for Liam Hickman to make it 3-0.

Turners pulled a goal back 22 minutes into the second half when Kieran Snead pounced.

However, the final was put out of sight when Hickman completed his hat-trick.
