BLACK Country Triathletes have teamed up with Wombourne Leisure Centre to host a mini triathlon on Saturday, August 27, to get more people active in the local community and celebrate Team GB’s achievements in the Rio 2016 Games.

The event is part of the I Am Team GB nationwide campaign that has inspired UK clubs to open their doors to new participants with the support of ITV, The National Lottery and the British Olympic Association and UK Sport to inspire the Great British public to take part in sport.

Black Country Triathletes and Wombourne Leisure Centre is proud to fly the ‘I Am Team GB’ flag in the local area.

The mini triathlon will give participants the chance to swim in the pool, utilise the spin bikes and then take part in an off-road run to give them an idea of what it is like to compete in such an event, distances to suit each age group.

The event is open to all people aged eight-80 and there will be the opportunity to speak to the adult and junior coaches from the club who can offer advice on taking part in triathlon and the benefits of joining the club.

The event will take place at Wombourne Leisure Centre, Ounsdale Road, from 1pm to 5pm. All you will need is swim kit, running gear and trainers and the desire to try something new.
