LYE Town will be hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend.
Manager Martin Thomas was expecting a tough match away at Midlands League rivals Shepshed Dynamo last Saturday, and it proved to be the case.
Town went one-nil down after just four minutes, but rallied to go in 2-1 up at the break thanks to goals from Jack Till. However, the game finished honours even as Shepshed scored an equaliser with half an hour of the match left.
The team has slipped to fifth in the table following the draw, but are only one point behind second place Coleshill Town.
Lye followed that result up with a 4-2 (aet) loss at division one side Heath Hayes on Tuesday night in the JW Hunt Cup, after the home side scored two goals in extra time.
With no game next Tuesday night, this week’s focus will all be about getting three points as they return to their Stourbridge Road ground on Saturday (3pm) for a league tie against Stourport Swifts.
