WEST Midlands Police overwhelmed Kingswinford Cons B 5-0 away from home to open up a three point lead in Stourbridge Snooker League's Premier Division.

Eliott Bastable, Pete Gibbons and Gavin Sloan, who was pressed hard by Andrew Brown, maintained their 100 per cent winning records.

Hotshots Snooker Club A and Townsend Social share second place, both winning their matches 3-2.

Hotshots were pressed hard by their own B team for whom Dawid Konior with a 47 break and Arshad Rehman did well to take a frame each, but Neil Beckley, Dave Green and Milan Krstanovic did enough to lift the A team home.

Townsend Social’s Dave Thompson won the decider comfortably at Pockets B to add to equally good performances by his brother, Rob and Darrell Payne. Earlier Dave Timmington, who had to clear the last four colours, and Lee Page, whose 31 break gave him a clear advantage, took a frame each for the home team.

Last season’s First Division Champions, Kinver Constitutional A, lost the opening frames at home to Pockets SC A, Gareth Ward and Taylor Fish, with a 53 break, on target for the visitors, but fought back through Mark Hatton, on his debut, and Graham Tranter, but Paul Churchman couldn’t hold John Betton in the decider.

Amblecote Institute A beat Brandhall Labour 4-1 in a well-contested match.

League newcomers St John’s Social of Kidderminster lead the First Division by three points after a 3-2 win at home to Kinver Constitutional B.

Simon Thomas set the target for the highest break with a great effort of 82, and Kev Smith and Beamer Jones, in the decider, completed the win; Adam Sprague, who made a break of 45, and Steve Nicholls took a frame each for Kinver.

Stourbridge Institute A recorded their third 3-2 victory at home to Old Edwardians, with Paul Bates, in particularly good form, and Richard Rudge and Paul Garbett completing the win which leaves them in a share of second place.

Chris Cowley, with a 41 break, and Dave Woodall, who needed a snooker on the colours, took a frame each for the visitors.

Amblecote Institute B joined them in second with a 4-1 win away to Baggeridge Social.

Newly-promoted Amblecote RBL B celebrated their first win with Barry Young, Martin Ball and Jack Ball lifting them to a 3-2 win at home to Kingswinford Cons A, and Norton Social B enjoyed their first success, 3-2 at Wombourne, thanks to Joe Davies, Luke Grosvenor and Carl Webb.

Kingswinford Cons C forced their way into outright leadership of the Second Division with a 4-1 success on the tables of Kinver Constitutional C.
