DUDLEY Kingswinford director of rugby Neil Shillingford says his side are facing a pivotal period of the season.

DK return to league action this Saturday when they travel to take on Worcester Wanderers.

Games against Hereford, Kenilworth and Moseley Oak will quickly follow.

Shillingford said: "We now want to build more momentum in the league and build on our win against Crewe and Nantwich.

"The next four games are massive as far as the rest of the season is concerned. It could shape our season.

"Good wins against the teams around us and we could be consolidating our position and looking to move up and challenging at the top."

DK go into the clash after being knocked out of the North Mids Cup when they welcomed Newport last Saturday.

They lost 31-15 at Heathbrook after making a host of changes against the current leaders in Midlands One West.

However, Shillingford was pleased with the performance and says he has learned a lot about his side.

"I was quite happy overall," he added. "We made a few changes but also used the game to try out a few things as well.

"We changed things during the game and finished really strong. We also know a lot more about Newport now for when we play them in the league. They certainly wont hold any fear for me or the players.

"The cup can be a distraction at times but as a tool to try a few things it worked well.

"The only thing that costs us what that we stood off them a little early on and then let in three tries when down to 14 men.

"That level of play that we saw against Crewe and Nantwich was there again in the second half and we now need to carry that forward against Worcester."
