GORNAL Athletic boss Matt Fisher admits Saturday's clash with AFC Bridgnorth is "massive" as the club battle relegation.

The Peacocks remain without a single point so far this campaign after last Saturday's 5-0 loss at West Midlands Premier League leaders Haughmond.

Gornal's attention now turns to the weekend trip to 16th-placed Bridgnorth after tonight's League Cup clash at Wolverhampton Sporting was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Fisher said: "It really is a massive game for us. Looking at their results I don't think there is anything between the two sides at all.

"We need to pick up some points very soon so that we don't get totally cut adrift at the bottom.

"It really is a big game but one I'm looking forward to.

"I truly believe we will get out of this, especially with this group of players. I know it may sound crazy to some people but I'm convinced we'll have enough to stay up.

"Hopefully that can all start with a win at Bridgnorth."

Fisher admits it was tough against Haughmond but was pleased with how his players stuck to the task.

"They are the best team we have faced this season," he added. "It was a fair result but we worked hard and put in a dogged performance. A few weeks ago we would have lost that by double figures."

Cordell White didn't feature against Haughmond but could return to the fold this week. However, Fisher now has a squad of 26 players to choose from after bringing in new faces and incorporating the club's under-21 side into the first team squad.
