GLASSBOYS boss Gary Hackett felt missed chances cost his side the win against league leaders Rushall Olympic on Boxing Day.

The two sides battled out a 0-0 draw at Amblecote as the Pics dug deep to repel the Glassboys after forward Karl Hawley saw red in the second half after a clash with Stour skipper Tom Tonks.

Hackett said: "It was a good battle. I think they shaded the first 15 minutes of the first half but I think the second 15 was fairly equal and the last 15 we were the better side.

"Their goal has led a little bit of a charmed life. We've had a bit of wayward finishing and a bit of poor quality in term of balls into the box.

"On another day it could have been a Stourbridge victory. But credit to Rushall, I thought they defended strongly and made life difficult for us.

"I think if we'd have scored a goal we might have gone on to score two or three but they were resolute.

"We've now got two big games coming up in Hednesford and Barwell before we can even focus on the FA Cup game with Wycombe. We are 12 games unbeaten against some very good sides and we're all a little frustrated today and feel it's two points dropped, but you are playing the league leaders and they're there for a reason.

"Better finishing will make a big difference in the next few games."
