CRADLEY Heathens will officially unveil their 2017 team at a special event in the town on Friday, March 10.

All seven of the riders will be on stage at Cradley Heath Liberal Club for the season launch night with every penny made being split between them to help with pre-season preparation.

Hosted by club presenter Ian ‘Porky’ Jones, riders will chat to fans and there will be autograph and picture opportunities. A raffle and race jacket auction will also be held to bolster funds.

The new 2017 race jacket will be presented to the team by Dean and Adam Bridge of loyal club sponsors Motor Market.

Details were announced in front of a capacity crowd at the Danny Ayres night at the Liberal Club and a similar turnout is expected on March 10.

Ayres, one of the club’s new signings, said: “I can’t wait to meet up with the rest of the boys on March 10, especially in front of a big crowd at the Liberal Club.

“I’ve already been made to feel very welcome by the fans and it will be great for all the boys to meet up with the fans like I did.

“I hope everyone who came along to my night will be there for the team’s night, it should be a great event.”

Meanwhile the club have confirmed they will be racing on all four Bank Holidays during the season at Wolverhampton.

They will race at 7.30pm on Easter Monday (April 17) and on the other three holiday dates they will start at a similar time after Wolverhampton’s Premiership meeting earlier. Turnstiles will open at 6.30pm for those who only wish to see the Heathens meeting.

Their opening home league fixture will be at Perry Barr on Wednesday, March 29.

Press and practice will be at Monmore on Monday, Mach 20 from 6.30pm – the day after Peter Karlsson’s farewell meeting.
