OLDBURY'S Jodie Stimpson has suffered an injury set-back that will keep her out of the World Triathlon Series in Leeds.
The Commonwealth champions noticed a leg injury after competing in a local aquathlon as part of her preparations for the British leg of the WTS on June 10 and 11.
Stimpson went for a scan which revealed the early stages of a stress fracture.
She said: "I'm non-weight bearing for the next couple of weeks but after that I'll be back training.
"Because this has knocked my training off by a few weeks it means I won't be able to race in the World Cup in Madrid or at the WTS in Leeds.
"I'm gutted because it's my favourite race of the year (Leeds) - the support there is always so amazing.
"I will be focused on keeping positive and getting back to racing as soon as possible."
