HALESOWEN Town boss John Hill rued wasteful finishing after his side's draw with Marine.

The Yeltz fought back to share the spoils after Ivor Lawton marked his first start for the club by cancelling out James Murray's opener.

However, it was poor first half finishing that frustrated the manager at full time.

He said: "It's probably a fair result overall but the game should be dead and buried in the first half.

"We've had three or four clear cut chances and if you don't take your chances it comes back to haunt you, and that's what it did.

"It's really frustrating because Dan Udoh as gone through twice in the first half and then we've even gone through with Dan Udoh and John McAtee. If he (Udoh) competes the square pass John McAtee had a goal and it changes the game.

"Then they score and you're just chasing. It's just really disappointing.

"We have criticised the lads in the dressing room but also praised them for sticking at it. But it could have been a different story."

The boss did praise goalscorer Lawton who has linked up with the Yeltz following his release from Coventry City.

Hill added: "He's short of match fitness but all that Ivor will do is get better and stronger, that's for sure."
