A YOUNG taekwondo player from a club based in Stourton and Kinver is getting set to represent England at the EITF European championships.

Libby Cashmore, aged 13, won her place in the international team against tough competition from nine other hopefuls at the team trials.

She has been selected to take part in the -51kg girls sparring division at the championships, which will take place in Tallinn, Estonia, from April 26-29.

Libby trains at the Unite Club, whose chief instructor, Kai Wilson, aged 44, will also be representing England at the championships in the -64kg sparring and fourth dan patterns in the veteran division.

The pair have been training regularly with the ITF England squad in Swindon, preparations for the event began last year.

Unite Taekwondo is currently fundraising to help Kai and Libby cover the costs trip.
