DEMETRI Brown fired home a last-gasp equaliser as Tividale drew with promotion rivals Wolverhampton Sporting.

The home clash ended 1-1 last Saturday as Dale maintained the five-point gap between themselves and Sporting heading into the final months of the season.

Sporting still have three games in hand but with matches coming thick and fast Tivi boss Dave King was happy to share the spoils.

He said: "I think a draw was a fair result overall. Neither side did enough to win it.

"I'm very pleased with a point, especially with the way it came so late. It felt like a win and we can now focus on moving forwards.

"I said last week that the game wouldn't decide the season because of all the games we have left. A lot of teams, including ourselves, will drop points at some stage.

"We have taken four points from a possible six against Wolverhampton Sporting this season so that's a good return.

"We now have a tough run of games to follow so we have to quickly focus on those."

Tivi are due to take on Racing Club Warwick in the Birmingham County FA Mid-week Floodlit Cup on Tuesday night before this Saturday's trip to Wednesfield.

King's attacking options are set to be boosted by the return of both Chris Bladen and Nathan Jones following long-term injury absences.

The Wednesfield game will be followed by three successive home games. Malvern, Wellington Amateurs and Black Country Rangers will all visit the Beeches.

King added: "We had a good crowd on Saturday and hopefully the fans can come out and support us again.

"We need the support of the local community for what could be an exciting end to the season."
