MANAGER John Hill says his Halesowen Town players must refocus to make sure they land the killer blow in their battle to beat the drop.

The Yeltz could secure Northern Premier League survival this weekend should they win at Stafford Rangers and bottom-placed Sutton Coldfield slip up at Barwell.

However, a win alone for Hales would all but confirm their status in the Northern Premier League with games running out for their rivals.

They took a massive step towards safety thanks to last Saturday's derby day victory over Stourbridge.

Town won 1-0 at the Grove through Ahmed Ali's first half strike as Stour ended the contest with ten men after Stuart Pierpoint saw red for a foul for halting an Ivor Lawton burst forward in the second half.

It was a win that handed the Yeltz a league double over the Glassboys this season and more importantly moved them nine points clear of bottom side Sutton in the league's only relegation place.

Hill's attention now turns to getting the job done this weekend after Monday's trip to Mickleover was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

He said: "If we win on Saturday then we'll be on 41 points, which is the most Sutton can get. We also have a superior goal difference but we don't want to stay up because of that.

"Our aim now is to win a few more games and really kick away.

"It may not be a bad thing that Monday's game was called off because there is the factor of it coming 'after the Lord Mayor's Show'. It gives us time to enjoy the derby win but also the chance to make sure we are fully focused.

"We need to make sure we reach the same levels of commitment when we face another local rival in Stafford Rangers."

The Yetlz will have to assess injuries to Brad Lewis and Jordan Goddard but will have both Enock Ekongo and Kevin Montiero back.
