DUDLEY Kingswinford will aim to nail down a Midlands One West play-off spot when Stoke visit Heathbrook this Saturday.

A bonus point success for the hosts (3pm kick-off) would confirm their place in the end-of-season finale.

They continued their fine form with a 51-20 success at Rugby Lions last Saturday and now turn their attention to a long-awaited clash in front of the their home fans.

DK have not played at Heathbrook since beating Camp Hill at the end of January.

Director of rugby Neil Shillingford admits it will be tough to overhaul leaders Burton as the campaign enters its final weeks but is determined to sew up second place as soon as possible.

He said: "You can't see Burton slipping up now but we'll just keep trying to win our games and see what happens.

"The first goal after getting involved in the promotion race was to make sure we came away with a play-off place. A bonus point win on Saturday would give us that.

"With the top two in the East side also set to play each other then the weekend will go a long way to deciding who we play.

"Stoke are a good team but we do feel that we owe them one after we narrowly lost at their place. We had a few people missing that day so hopefully we can turn it around now."

On the Rugby Lions victory, he added: "There are always a few things you can work on but I was pleased with the result.

"We'd done enough on the training paddock and managed to handle their abrasive pack well.

"The game was a lot closer at half time than it should have been but we adapted and implemented what we wanted to do in the second half, which is an area that we have really improved this season.

"Fitness levels were also good after a break without playing. The lads really work on their conditioning and do a lot of work off the field and in the gym. All of that really helped us as well."
