Heathens confident Hammer will beat the rain

DUDLEY Heathens say they are confident tonight's F.A.S.T Golden Hammer individual event at Wolverhampton will beat the weather.

The Monmore track is one of the best in the country for taking water and with a dry evening in prospect club bosses are going for it.

Chairman Nigel Pearson said: "This is our showpiece individual event of the year and we have had fantastic exposure in the local and regional media.

"Everyone is so excited about it and we are determined to make it happen. Wolverhampton raced their meeting against Birmingham on Sky last week after hours of rain and we are planning to do the same.

"We have a much improved weather forecast for tonight so we are going for it!"
