SOUTH African star Byron Bekker is loving life in the Black Country with Dudley Heathens.
Bekker has become a firm favourite with fans of the former Cradley outfit and has been piling up the points of late.
And he’s backing the team to go on and win the league and cup double — even if they have to face Mildenhall in both finals.
He said: “I think we can certainly beat whoever it is we have to face in the Knockout Cup Final. I think if you take the Mildenhall meetings over two legs then we probably lost.
“But we only had four of our seven riders at their place on Sunday. If we have got a full team then we should be able to run them closer and then do the same to them as we did at Monmore Wood.
“We could end up facing Stoke instead, but given the results we have had against them already this season I am confident that we could overcome them too if we had to.
“I think we have what it takes to win the league as well. We have got to stay positive, stay strong and hope for the best. It is looking good so far given the form that we have.
“I am really enjoying my time here and it is certainly one of my most enjoyable seasons.
“As a team we have been going great since the start of the season, and it has been excellent to be a part of that.”
Heathens round off their National League regular programme with a home meeting against the Isle of Wight next Tuesday.
They have pencilled in dates for the play-offs and KOC Final. The home leg of the play-off semi-final will be Tuesday, September 25 and the KOC Final will be on Tuesday, October 23.
