Bulteel double fires Old Hales

OLD Halesonians Hockey Club continued their fine form with a 4-1 friendly win at Loughborough Town.

A strong side travelled to Leicestershire and performed well throughout, controlling the game.

Tom Bulteel was first on the scoresheet after Hales were awarded a penalty stroke after a deliberate foul inside the D.

He then doubled his tally before the break when his drag flick found its way past the Loughborough defenders.

The hosts grabbed a goal back to make it 2-1 early in the second period but Paul Harrold restored the two-goal advantage for Hales when he tapped home.

Tom Durnford the completed the scoring with a late goal, his bobbling shot finding a way past the goalkeeper.

Old Hales Ladies grabbed a 2-2 draw with Erdington thanks to goals from Bernie O’Grady and Sam Donlon, while the seconds were 3-1 winners over West Bromwich.

Ash Greaves, Nathan Whitehouse and skipper Mark Rigby were their scorers.

The fourths beat West Bromwich thirds 4-0 with Scott Thorpe, Joe Taylor, Nic Penn and Deck Glaze netting.
