Heathens play-off match postponed

DUDLEY Heathens have pulled the plug on tonight's eagerly awaited play-off semi-final with Stoke Potters at Monmore Green.

With rain falling at the Wolverhampton circuit and all weather forecasts suggesting it is set in for the day, club bosses pulled the plug at 1.30pm.

A provisional restaging date of Tuesday, October 9, has been set for the tie - next Tuesday's meeting at Stoke now becomes the first leg.

Heathens chairman Nigel Pearson said: "We have looked at several weather forecasts and with rain now falling we have no chance.

"We have made an early decision to avoid inconvenience as any other decision would have been delaying the inevitable.

"Tuesday October 9 is a provisional date for the restaging - but we are also looking at a potential earlier option and we will confirm this within the next 48 hours.

"In the meantime we look forward to seeing as many Heathens fans as possible for the first leg at Loomer Road next Tuesday."
