WORCESTERSHIRE County Cricket Club have already attracted more than 200 new members for the 2015 campaign which combines the club’s 150th anniversary year and a return to playing LV= County Championship Division One cricket.

There has been a steady increase in new members throughout the close season after the County gained promotion from Division Two in dramatic fashion last September.

The figure has delighted Worcestershire CCC’s Membership and Ticketing Manager Amy Francetti.

She said: “You can sense the excitement amongst supporters with the new season now less than a month away although it is next week that we play our first friendly at home to Gloucestershire (March 25-27).

“With it being the club’s 150th anniversary year and with a return to Division One cricket in the LV= County Championship, people have been keen to become members for 2015 and at the latest count the number of new members was up to 205.

“This is more than the personal target I had set and it’s great news for the club and great that people want to be part of a milestone year in the club’s history.”

Meanwhile, Worcestershire Rapids NatWest T20 Blast 2015 overseas signing, Colin Munro, hit another century for Auckland on the third day of the Plunket Shield clash with visiting Wellington.

Munro raced to 108 off 125 balls as Auckland made 350-7 declared in reply to Wellington’s 344 all out.

The 27-year-old had scored 137 against Canterbury earlier in the month on the same ground.

Munro came to the wicket at 105-2 and shared in a stand of 201 in 48 overs with Auckland opener Jeet Raval (148).

The Rapids player hit four sixes and 17 fours.
