MOEEN Ali completed the second five-wicket haul of his Test career as England bowled out Bangladesh for 220 on the opening day of the second Test in Dhaka.

The Worcestershire all-rounder finished with figures of 19.5-5-57-5 as Bangladesh collapsed from 171-1 and lost their last nine wickets for 49 runs.

Moeen broke up the second-wicket stand of 170 in 39 overs between centurion Tamin Iqbal and Mominul Haque in three overs.

He and Ben Stokes then proved a formidable combination backed up by some superb catching.

Moeen had only once bettered the figures in Test cricket with his 6-67 against India at Southampton in July 2014.

Iqbal went to his eighth Test ton with a cover drive for four off Moeen, who had initially been introduced into the attack in the seventh over of the morning.

But the 29-year-old had his revenge in his next over as Iqbal (104) padded up offering no stroke and was adjudged lbw.

He reviewed the decision but replays showed the ball clipping off-stump with Bangladesh then on 171-2 in the 42nd over.

Moeen struck again in the 46th over as Haque (66) went back to a full delivery and was bowled via the inside edge.

A third scalp followed for Moeen as Mushfiqur Rahim (4) gave him the charge, inside-edged the ball through his legs and skipper Alastair Cook held on to a sharp chance at leg slip.

Moeen continued to cause problems after tea.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz (1) was lbw after sweeping as England successfully reviewed and Moeen completed his five-wicket haul as Kamrul Islam Rabbi (0) pushed forward and Joe Root pulled off a stunning catch away to his left at slip.

It followed on from Moeen's five match wickets in the narrow opening Test success in Chittagong in addition to 82 valuable runs.
