WORCESTERSHIRE Rapids have named a 13-man squad for the Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Wantage Road tomorrow (2pm).

The Rapids are forced into one change from the side which overcame Notts Outlaws at New Road and Leicestershire Foxes at the Fischer County Ground in their opening two North Group games.

With Moeen Ali having returned to England duty, Rhodes has added opener Daryl Mitchell, paceman Josh Tongue and all-rounder George Rhodes to the 10 players who featured versus the Outlaws and Foxes.

Mitchell has been a regular member of the side in white ball as well as red ball cricket for many seasons but did not feature in the opening two games.

Tongue impressed in the opening two Specsavers County Championship matches, making crucial contributions with the ball in the second innings of the wins over Glamorgan and Northamptonshire.

It was in the One-Day Cup that George Rhodes made his senior breakthrough mid-way through last summer and he scored a century yesterday for the Seconds in their Trophy win over Nottinghamshire at Oakham School.

Director of cricket Steve Rhodes said: "We love having Mo around and he has made two really good contributions.

"He was the only person to get a half century in that Northants game in the Championship and showed his skill in getting that.

"Then at Leicester he really did take it to them in making 90 and probably deserved a century and he gave us impetus and momentum in getting a big score.

"But it is just a bonus having him around and we tend to look at our team without him because he doesn't play much for us.

"We will have to see the conditions at Northampton before announcing the side."

Worcestershire have won all four of their opening four matches in all competitions in a flying start to the campaign.

Rhodes said: "We are really pleased to have got this far in the season and we are unbeaten - but we also recognise and respect opposition and Northants are a very dangerous team.

"They have proved their worth in T20 cricket and on their own patch they are going to be a very difficult side to beat.

"We will certainly try and keep our heads down and feet firmly on the ground because ultimately we want to qualify in this competition."
