MALVERN College pupil Aaron Tomson hit a rapid 85 as a Worcestershire Development Of Excellence XI overcame a New South Wales Blue Barbarians Select XI by 70 runs at Dumbleton.
Tomson hit 14 boundaries in just 55 balls as his side got 244-8 in 50 overs after electing to bat.
After two wickets went for 11 runs Rehaan Edavaleth (36) and Henry Cullen (30) rebuilt the innings in a patient stand of 77 in 26 overs for the third wicket.
Tomson produced the fireworks in a fifth-wicket partnership of 95 in 11 overs with Josh Dickenson (16).
Luke Tulacz struck a quick 25 not out off 12 balls and then removed both openers.
He picked up three early wickets to reduce Barbarians to 21-4 in the 11th over.
Tulacz took 4-44 from 10 overs as Barbarians closed on 174-9.
Henry Marshall (1-14), Pete Clark (1-28) and Lewis Evans (2-17) also bowled well.
