Ronald HARLEY

HARTLEY Ronald of Halesowen Beryl, the wife of Ron, Son Matthew, Daughter in Law Sharon, Grandson Matthew and all the family wish to thank all relatives and friends, also our neighbours, for their care and concern at this time. We give thanks for the support of our church families at Cradley Heath and Lye Salvation Army, this having been a large part of Ron's life. We thank everyone who came to pay tribute at the funeral service - some travelling from Eastbourne, London and Lichfield to do so. The service was held at Cradley Heath Salvation Army on 18th January 2018. This was led by Major Shirley Knight, to whom we give our sincere thanks for a lovely service, which was personal to Ron's life. Tributes given during the service were by Horace Adams, a friend of many years, and Christine Glazzard, his partner in the band in which he played. Ron's favourite hymn, 'What a Friend we have in Jesus', was beautifully sung as a solo by Hilary Crowhurst. Assisting Major Shirley Knight were Majors David and Joy Stephenson, Corps Officers of Cradley Heath Salvation Army. Our thanks go to Bandmaster John Shepherd and band for music provided during the service and at Quinton Cemetery. To Matthew Griffiths also, for providing a buffet for us afterwards. Finally, to Marcus Adams, Funeral Director and friend, and his Staff. A special thank you for his care and dedicated service to his work, which he shows to all families that he comes into contact with. All donations received will be given to West Midlands Ambulance Service as a thank you for their dedication to their work which serves our community.
