IRISH TV comic Jason Byrne headlines the latest ‘Live At The Civic’ comedy show in Brierley Hill tomorrow night.

The popular Dubliner, whose sets are largely improvised, is widely regarded as one of the best in the business.

As well as being the best-selling comic ever at the Edinburgh Fringe, Byrne has been nominated for both the Perrier and Perrier Best Newcomer Awards at the festival.

He takes centre stage at Brierley Hill Civic Hall on Friday night (May 18), where nearly 500 tickets have already been snapped up – but there are a few still available.

Byrne will be supported on the night by comedy magician Pete Firman, a finalist on ITV’s Next Great Magician and as seen on the likes of The One Show and This Morning, and controversial Aussie firebrand Brendon Burns.

Hosting the show will be resident MC, Dudley’s own Wayne Beese.

Beese said: “It promises to be an amazing show and we’re really looking forward to it.

“The term comedy genius is overused but it should certainly be applied to Jason Byrne. He’s been consistently brilliant for a long time now and even if you’ve seen him before, no two sets are ever the same.

“Pete is not only a superb magician but a very funny man, while Brendon isn’t afraid to say what he thinks and doesn’t care what people think about it!

“All in all it makes for a superbly varied bill, and if you haven’t got tickets already we’d urge you not to miss it.”

Tickets, costing £15, are available at www.bhillcivic.co.uk/whats-on/comedy, and there may be a small amount available on the door. Doors and the bar open at 7pm at the Bank Street venue, with the show starting around 8pm.

Live At The Civic started life in July 2016 and has since hosted a raft of star stand-up names, including Ross Noble, Joe Lycett, Seann Walsh, Doc Brown, Gary Delaney, Justin Moorhouse, Tom Stade and Mark Watson.

Joel Dommett – who appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2016 – headlines at the Civic on Saturday, June 16.
