BLACK Country Radio's own Billy Spake Mon is set to host a charity busking event in Langley.

Buskin' For Charity – taking place at Zion Reform Church Hall on Saturday, November 18 – will see an afternoon of music from artists who have featured on his Omma ‘n Chain Show.

From 1pm until 3.30pm, Billy and his special guests will also be providing stories throughout the free event, all in aid of the Charlie Grigg Book Fund.

Billy said: “It’s a free afternoon of buskin singers and musicians who are helping me raise funds for the publication of the book I am compiling on the life of Charlie Grigg.

“I am working closely with Steve, Charlie's son, in using his dad's own words as a framework, then exploring all aspects of his work with many images never seen in public.

“The public can come and listen to some great music from artists who have been on my radio show The Omma ‘n Chain Show, as well as chat with us about the project and donate any amount they wish to the book fund.”

Following the busking event, Billy will be back in Langley as he puts on a special night of the very best music from the region.

Paul and Oscar Beadle, plus John Langford and Scot Eeles, will all feature at Zion United Reform Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 19.

Tickets for the gig, which starts 7.30pm, cost £5 and can be reserved from Billy by emailing, texting 07514 824945, or leave name and number of tickets with John at the church.
