THE new season of special ‘Screen on the Green’ film screenings at Oldbury Rep gets underway later this month.
Getting the season underway on Friday, September 28, will be ‘The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society’.
Based on Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows’ 2008 novel of the same name, the film stars Lily James, Penelope Wilton and Tom Courtenay.
Set in 1946, the plot follows a London-based writer who begins exchanging letters with residents on the island of Guernsey, which was under German occupation during World War II.
Tickets to see the film, which will be shown in the Rep’s 170 seat auditorium, with high quality digital projection beaming it onto a 16ft screen, cost £4 and starts at 7.30pm.
