Eddie Redmayne shows he can seamlessly switch from being an Oscar-winning actor to an on-screen lady, as the first image of him in character for his new film is unveiled.
The Theory Of Everything star, who scooped the best actor award for his portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking at the Oscars and Baftas, plays transgender painter Einar Wegener – later known as Lili Elbe – in The Danish Girl.
Tom Hooper is directing the big-screen adaptation of David Ebershoff’s novel of the same name, which also stars Alicia Vikander and Amber Heard.
The story, which takes place in the 1920s, tells the love story between Einar and his wife Gerda Waud (Alicia), and how Gerda persuaded him to pose for her in women’s clothes. He later underwent sex reassignment surgery to become a woman.
Eddie’s new look surprised many people on Twitter, who mistakenly thought he was Jessica Chastain.
One user got a real shock though.
